to me: I
saw the world
begin to breathe
every wall pulsing
with my own saw hard
stone become diamond,
the earth, I saw
the sky
sun red and
felt the wind
and nothing else
I saw fast lines
stretching
color
and field
I heard
the purest
sounds, vulgar
and un-ending
(yet wanted to-feel-more than the wind
to laugh-at more than humanity, to
etch my names in the cliffs)
I
had a world of wonder
before me in every grain
of-all and didn’t dare
ask didn’t dare
look listen
to me
for then
I saw the love
of the world wrapped and
crushed (please let it not be true
what sin confined us here) I saw eyes
spinning in the bricks of building where
we live and didn’t think twice about it,
they were just staring there like
these are just words on a page>
begging you to listen to
what I saying: I saw
the world begin and ripped
myself from its beautiful
silver folds and in the tear
saw
a stead beating
that scared
the wind
out of
me
